Did you know that May is National Walking Month? The warmer and drier (hopefully!) weather means it's a great time to dig out your walking boots and trainers and get outdoors.

Not only could you do this challenge to raise much-needed funds and awareness for Alopecia UK, but it's also a great chance to discover more of your local area and get a boost of Vitamin D!

Our Communications Manager Amy is committing to walking a minimum of 5K every day in May. Here's what she has to say:

"After an overindulgent Winter period, with my jeans feeling a bit snugger than ever, I am keen to get moving a bit more. The terrible weather over the past few months hasn't exactly inspired me to be outdoors but I'm hoping May will be kinder. I've downloaded a new pedometer app to my phone to track my distances and will be walking a minimum of 5k every day in May. I would love others to join me and set their own challenge to walk 5k a day in May for AUK!"

If you would like to join Amy in walking 5k a day in May for AUK, you can set up your own fundraising page (and link it to our 5k a Day in May for AUK appeal).

If you would like to raise some awareness as you get your walks in, we are happy to send you an Alopecia UK t-shirt to wear with pride. To help ensure our costs are covered, we will send your t-shirt once you have a minimum donation of £10 on your page.

Alopecia UK relies on the generosity of fundraisers within our community to continue the work we do to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia. The work we do in our aims of Support, Awareness and Research can only happen with the help of those willing to fundraise and donate. Please get involved if you can. We would LOVE to have your support.

Thank you!
